Ready to run 26.2?

So you have decided to do it…run a full marathon. I get asked all the time…how far in advance do I need to train? Well it depends on a few things:

1. Current fitness level? Are you already running?

2. Have you done any racing? Ex- 5k, 10k, 1/2 marathon.

3. If you are running already consistently how many miles are you logging weekly?

4. What race elements will you be racing in? ex- hilly/ challenging courses

And so on….

When picking a race it’s important to have enough time to train. If you want a successful finishing race then it’s key to allow time to develop your distance and speed to achieve that goal.
